How to apply perfume correctly?

What is the best way to apply perfume?

Choosing the right fragrance is only half the success. Equally important is the proper application of perfume, which guarantees that the fragrance will develop correctly on the skin and prolong its durability. What can we do to bring out all the strengths hidden in our favourite fragrance composition?

What should we keep in mind?

First of all, we must remember that our sense of smell becomes resistant to fragrances that we smell frequently and for long periods of time. As a result of this natural tendency, we may stop smelling the fragrance we have applied much earlier than it actually evaporates. In such situations, it is best to ask someone else for their opinion. Remember that an overly intense fragrance can be unpleasant for those around us.

Where to apply perfume?

It is very important to always apply perfume to clean, washed and dry skin. This guarantees that the fragrance will develop properly. Avoid applying perfume to clothing. The scent will be less lasting, and some perfumes may discolour fabrics.

Experts advise applying perfume to the thinnest and most blood-rich areas of the skin. These can be found on the inside of the wrists, in the bends of the knees and elbows, on the neck and under the breasts. Thanks to this application, the fragrance will fully release its rich bouquet for a long time. An interesting suggestion is to apply perfume to areas such as the navel, temples or groin. This is a great way to play with scent.

It is worth remembering that when using perfume, it should be applied to moisturised and nourished skin. This will make the scent last much longer. If you have dry skin, you can apply a small amount of odourless vaseline to the area where you are applying the perfume.
